Academy Newsletter Interview - March 2022

Academy Member Eva Petersson currently lives in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The 12-year old actress is dedicated to her craft and shares how she’s continued strengthening it in the last year.

I try to spread kindness as much as possible. Have one act of kindness everyday and you will feel empowered. I work and train very hard and feel grateful for every new opportunity presented to me. I love nature and animals. Performing is what I love doing most.

When filming, I like the thrill of being onset. I love to interact with other actors, getting directions from the director, and everyday is different. I like the challenge of learning my scenes and creating my character. On stage, I like the thrill of being live in front of an audience and connecting with them. Nothing beats the adrenaline of performing live!

I have many TV commercials under my belt, the latest is for Volkswagen. In 2021 I played the lead role in the short thriller Where is Lucy? and won multiple best actress awards at film festivals around the world (NYC, LA, Rome, Istanbul, Dubai, and still in competition in Buenos Aires, France and more)
Another important project is the Snow White Musical/Panto show with many performances at the prestigious Arts for All Theatre in Dubai, where I played the role of the fairy narrator. I got to act, dance and sing a solo as well.

I have started taking vocal coaching lessons more frequently this year. I am working on my content for my YouTube channel when I get the time. Most importantly for me, I keep working on my acting craft all the time, because as an actor you keep growing, it’s a never ending process.

I read a lot during my free time and I take care of my organic garden in my backyard. I planted eggplants, cucumbers, chilies and they need my constant attention! I like to write stories as well. I just started my new YouTube channel where I talk candidly about acting, and life in general. I write and create my own content.

Networking Tip:
Social Media is a definite source for networking.
Keep auditioning. Do not pass on any audition sent from a casting director. Always try to do your best and look at it as an ongoing learning process. Be professional on set, and people will remember you and want to network with you in the future.

Business Advice:
Always be yourself, never change who you are. Stay authentic and follow your instincts.
