Academy Newsletter Interview - September 2021

Almost 9-year old Isla Sunar from Vancouver BC loves all genres of performing. The Young Artist Academy™ Award Nominee works hard to prepare for her roles, but also knows how to be herself. She shares some of her favorite projects and the “most important thing” for working in Entertainment.

I love to dance!.... and I can also make sounds like Goofy and touch my nose with my tongue. I like Musical theatre to get myself out there. It has acting, singing and dancing. I just did a High School Musical summer camp and got to play Sharpei. I practice and run the lines over with my sister. I think being prepared is good for life. I love seeing the set and I love getting into wardrobe, like the costumes, and I just love getting to know the people there and I love the food.

[As for noteworthy projects,] I would say my latest thing is Two Sentence Horror Stories on CW Network because it was my biggest role. I was the main character and I was gone for five days. Ya, so I would say Two Sentence Horror Stories. Oh ya, and I got nominated for an Imogen Award!!

Network Tip: Just be yourself.

Business Advice: Practice a lot. You have to practice, practice, practice. Ya, and have fun. That's the most important thing!
