To be eligible for the 2022 Awards, the young artist must have been between the ages of five (5) and eighteen (18) when their project was in production. Artists older than 18 are eligible to submit for the 2022 Awards, if they meet this age requirement at the time of production,
The work must have been nationally and/or internationally aired, streamed, televised, released theatrically, or played in a film festival between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.
It is preferable that a YouTube link from the 'Share' button to the submission video be provided on the online Submission Form. Be sure to designate the submission video on YouTube as Unlisted (not Private) so it's not publicly accessible.
If the video contains copyrighted material, try uploading to a Vimeo account and assign it as 'Unlisted' under the 'Who can watch?' drop-down menu. Provide the unlisted link on the submission form.
Or you may transfer the video using the free online file transfer service - WeTransfer.com - provide the WeTransfer file download link on the submission form.
If you do not have a submission video ready, type 'Video Pending' on the submission form and later email the link to: firstname.lastname@example.org
At the start of your video, make sure you have a graphic card (5 seconds) that includes your head-shot, name, nomination category and project title.
Submission videos can be up to 3 minutes maximum.
If a short-film is 10 minutes or less, it may be submitted in its entirety. If it is longer than 10 minutes, it is suggested the scenes showing the best performances be edited into a submission video that is no longer than 3 minutes.
For DANCER submissions, a video can be of a dance recital, competition, or a studio recreation of a legit theatre production dance number, comprising of solo, duo, or within a group performance. Dance styles can be ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip-hop, or modern. Please state style in the Other Information box on the submission form.
For WRITER, PRODUCER, and DIRECTOR submissions, an edited video may be up to 10 minutes maximum in length. A project's trailer, if there is one, is also acceptable. On the submission form, additional material for these three positions will be asked for.
Video File Title
Ensure the title of the video file starts with the young artist's last name, followed by a hyphen (-) and the project name (or an abbreviation.) Example: Last Name-Project Name (note: there are no spaces on either side of the hyphen.)
1) Upload a full headshot photo (top of head to below the chin) with the Submission Form (see below for the form.) This is optional for subsequent submissions.
By uploading your headshot, you give permission for your likeness to used in all Young Artist Academy™ media.
2) Upload an audio file (mp3, m4a, mov, or wav) of the young artist's full professional name and project title, as typed on the Submission Form, being pronounced.
This will be the spelling and pronunciation used in all YAA publicity, social media and on the Category Videos during the awards gala event.
The Awards Gala will be announced later in 2022.
2022 Nominees will receive updated information about the 43rd Annual Young Artist Academy™ Awards Gala.
Young artists do not need to be present to win. Shipping/handling of trophies will be at winner's expense.
